It amazes me

each year we meet – after a whole year or less
and we think we have picked up from where we left off

it is interesting who’s life changes show

its in the place that we see the changes and so

the global – the US – remains a space

its in my body that changes should not be happening

for in the global – the US – we must remain frozen

but suddenly

now and then there are those that visit the

place

we have here

and our relationships shift

for depending on who and how long

the space either gets intensified or

realized

in ways that those of us who live here year after year

do not understand it

or in ways certain imagined communities

would continue to let it be imagined

it is a pact – based in viewer and viewed

a pact that I have never been privy to…
