EmbodiedResearch group meeting on SL
What fun and how productive (even though it may have been overwhelming to some)
so nice to meet everyone in the group.
Certainly of great value to my class members. We will be talking about this on Thursday in class of course!
convenience of twittering v blogging and loneliness of blogging v facebook and orkut
So I find myself twittering via both my SL avi and my “rl” username more often than I would ever blog – perhaps that’s because I dont write long posts on my blogs (I reserve my lengthy writing for my conference papers and pubs – I’m fairly old-fashioned that way – also since I am more of a journal writer and letter writer from the 70s … I tend to treat online exchanges more as interpersonal conversation..)
Its easier just to update my twitter with one liners.
I also dont like alone writing online – since my alone writing and journalling is mostly done in my nice paper journals or in word documents…
So facebook and (orkut and myspace ocasionally) currently give me a reason to post online for particular groups of people as audience.
How and where can I sort out all my writing and thoughts? Mostly when writing for publication – since I started writing for publication in my teens when I started to aspire to be a freelance journalist.
just some random thoughts ….
