Why do we take on Avatars?

I woke up this morning thinking of Dominance and Rebellion and wondering what the story of the slayer of Kings known as Parasurama would tell me today.

Why did the two avatars coexist in the telling of this myth?

- the one reinstating a particular form of governmentality – Rama

- and the one systematically demolishing Representatives of Authority – Parasurama

what does the schizophrenia of the moment of their co-existence tell us about the Avataric existences

in today’s Global cultures?

I think it tells us that our modern invention of schizophrenia can’t take into account non-modernist notions of just about anything. :)

On the other hand, though I find the modern notion of avatar a really limited embodiment of the non-digital concept, I really wonder when we didn’t have avatars representing us. The digital representations just allowed for us to see them at a distance and articulate them as puppet-bots.
